The Visit
A school visit to experience the unique atmosphere of this living Victorian school is designed for seven to twelve year old children and lasts about three hours.
Normally visits are limited to thirty five children. We have open days about three times a year with details in the local press. Individual visits at other times are welcome by arrangement

Arrival
The Classroom
There are slates and dip pens to use and "Miss North" instructs in a lesson lasting about an hour. This will include learning by rote, an object lesson, drill and singing accompanied by the harmonium or melodeon.
There is sometimes an opportunity for the girls to take part in needlework instruction.
Miss North is frequently assisted by visitors such as The Squire, The Rector's Wife Mrs Fagin, Miss Sampson (a pupil teacher) and Miss Dove.
Lunchtime
If schools stay for lunch, picnics should be Victorian eg. bread, cheese, apples, cake etc. Mugs of water are provided.
The Museum
There is a small museum and a quiz - clipboards and quiz sheets are provided.
There are many opportunities for hands on experience.
Inside there is a wide range of reproduction Victorian toys for scholars to use.
Outside Play
In the playground there are metal hoops, oak skittles, spinning tops, etc. to enjoy as well as a huge map of the Empire.
